Joutsijärvi Village - War Memorials / in Kemijärvi

The Joutsijärvi village region has numerous wartime spots (Civil War, Winter War, interim peace, fortification station and the Continuation war). There is a war memorial in Mäntyvaara, the site of tough battles. Perhaps the best-known spot is the renovated bunker in the heart of the village of Joutsijärvi. Free and open to visitors all the year round.

- Fishing spot of Pond Hunajalampi, by the main road 5 and shop. Parking place, grill-teepee, playground for children, duckboard on the shore of the pond,  three landing-stages, bunker. The map "Pond Hunajalampi" attached. 
- Sight: The renovated bunker with a small exhibition of the war time.
- Shop, cafeteria and fuel sales by the main road 5 and by the bicycle route Kemijärvi - Suomu (the map attached).
- Suomu the Arctic Circle Holiday Resort, about 17 kilometres to the south (Kuusamo, main road Nr. 5).
