Luiro Village - Nature / in Pelkosenniemi

Luiro is a lively Lappish village entirety surrounded by aapa bogs, with the Luiro School lying in its centre. The school provides cafeteria services during the summertime, and when planning a fishing trip to Luiro or a bird watching trip to Kairanaapa bog, it’s also worth taking time out for exploring the village of Luiro. The Sakkalanaapa and Sudenvaaranaapa bogs to the east of the village have birch fens, narrow stranded birch, and flarks of moss-sedge-grass. The Village Association uses the Luiro Village School.
