Bird watching spots
The aapa bogs rich with species of bird are Sokanaapa, Kilpiaapa, Kokonaapa, Siurunaapa, Kairanaapa, Lämsänaapa and Sakkala-aapa. The most popular bird watching spot is Sokanaapa, which is also suitable for people with mobility restrictions (inva-trail). There is a picturesque bird lake in the heart of the Kemihaara bogs. Arvosjoki and Vuostimonsalmi are significant bird gathering sites during the spring and autumn.

Kemijärvi is the lake where hundreds of swans (Cygnus cygnus) can be seen during the autumn season.
